According to Qualcomm, these systems are in use in over 2,000 trucking fleets nationwide. Although the system is equipped with a safety device that can prevent the system from being used while the truck is in motion, many truck companies have failed to install this safety feature. E-mailing while driving has been cited as a cause of fatal crashes.
